TAPPI Appoints Bell Vice President of Corporate Relations

TAPPI has announced the appointed of David Bell as vice president of corporate relations. In this role, he will be involved in directing corporate sponsorships, fundraising, and major gifts. Related activities will have him involved in TAPPI Foundation fundraising, grant development, and acting as TAPPI’s liaison to the Research Management Committee as well as university and education communities.

“Since joining the TAPPI team in 2007, David has been part of the leadership in our corporate relations and marketing activities,” said TAPPI president Larry Montague. “Over time, it became clear to me that he had a unique talent in corporate relations. When we recently added a marketing director to our team, it became logical that this move would allow us to have David do what he knows well and what the TAPPI needs to thrive in the 21st century.”

Prior to TAPPI, Bell served for eight years at the Institute of Paper Science and Technology (IPST), the Center for Paper Business and Industry Studies (CPBIS), and the Robert C. Williams American Museum of Papermaking, all located in Atlanta. His responsibilities covered marketing, communications, fundraising, and exhibition design. Bell’s knowledge of the paper industry, fundraising, and corporate development are skills that he brings to TAPPI’s Senior Strategy Team.

Bell received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Fine Arts/Papermaking from Georgia State University. He also earned a Technical Certificate in Professional Photography from the Southeastern Center for the Arts.

TAPPI is the leading association for the worldwide pulp, paper, packaging, and converting industries and co-publisher of Paper360° and TAPPI JOURNAL. For more information, visit www.tappi.org.
