Pharma Tech Industries Names Richard Loughlin Vice President of Strategic Sales

Pharma Tech Industries (PTI), the largest pharmaceutical contract manufacturer and packager of powder products in the world, has named industry veteran Richard Loughlin to the position of vice president of strategic sales. In this role, Loughlin will be responsible for servicing existing contract manufacturing customers as well as identifying and securing new business relationships.

Loughlin has more than two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. Most recently, he served as director of contract manufacturing at Sanofi-Aventis US. Prior to this, he held the title of senior vice president of strategic accounts for Instant Dx, a position preceded by 13 years of service at Schering Plough. At Pharma Tech Industries, Loughlin will be based in the New Jersey area.

Loughlin joins Pharma Tech Industries at a time of significant growth for the company. Through the installation of new equipment and facility expansions that included the addition of four new clean rooms, PTI has, in recent years, expanded its roster of services to offer more options for its pharmaceutical clients. Most recently, PTI dedicated a clean room to pouch packaging, invested in increased blending capabilities, and has plans to offer stick-pack packaging. More and more, the company is seen as an all-inclusive contract manufacturer, one that can see products from formula straight through packaging and market-readiness.

“As PTI continues to grow, we were looking for someone with big-company pharmaceutical experience and the ability to oversee several large projects at once,” said Carl Oberg, president of Pharma Tech Industries. “Richard brings exactly that to the table. He has a proven track record, is well known and respected throughout the industry and, as a bonus, gives Pharma Tech Industries a strong foothold in the New Jersey area, which of course is among the most concentrated regions in pharma.”

Loughlin holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Rutgers University, where he majored in Economics as an undergraduate. A father of three, he resides in Little Silver, NJ, with his wife, Mariann.
