Packaging Expert Joe Pryweller Joins Freedonia Group

The Freedonia Group, a leading industry market research firm, announces that Joseph Pryweller has joined the firm as a senior industry analyst in the packaging group. Pryweller will direct multi-client studies and industry market research for packaging professionals with a team of analysts, and will contribute to Freedonia’s Custom Research and Focus Reports divisions.

After more than two decades as an esteemed journalist, media director, and high-profile leader in the packaging industry, Pryweller will continue to shape trends and discussion. He is a respected conference speaker and moderator, and has authored numerous articles and blog posts.

For eight years, Pryweller was editor, and then director, of Packaging Strategies, a publication offering insights and analysis of business and technologies in packaging. He was responsible for the development of Packaging Strategies newsletter, a publication now in its 30th year, and managed Packaging Strategies conferences, some attended by more than 500 professionals.

Prior to these leadership roles, Pryweller was senior reporter at Plastics News, an Akron, OH-based trade newspaper for the plastics industry. His coverage of packaging at Plastics News was recognized by several outside awards, and he also spent three years as the publication’s primary automotive reporter in Detroit.

Pryweller has a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri, and a BS degree in communications/business from Michigan State University.
