Duravant, which owns brands such as Fischbein and FMH Conveyors, acquired Hamer from Hanover Partners and Tuckerman Capital.
Hamer is based in Plymouth, MN and manufactures packaging equipment such as automated bagging systems, fillers, sealers and robotic palletizers.
Located in Downers Grove, IL, Duravant manufactures equipment for the material handling, food processing, and packaging industries. The acquisition of Hamer is expected to expand Duravant’s packaging abilities and strengthen its engineering, design, and service expertise in bag management system solutions.

Hamer will continue to be led by President Dan Brown, who has been with the company since 2002.

Hamer has been in business for more than 80 years and launched its first product, the Hamer ring bag closer in 1927.
Duravant is a name and brand that was launched in October 2014 and features products manufactured under brand names such as Marlen International, Carruthers, Saxon, and more.
