Container and Pooling Solutions Joins Reusable Packaging Association

Container and Pooling Solutions (CAPS) has joined the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) to advocate and implement strategies that efficiently “green” supply chains while reducing overall packaging costs. CAPS joined the list of elite RPA members working to offer eco-friendly strategies worldwide.

CAPS is a leading provider of container management solutions, providing reusable container systems, including rental and tracking services for businesses across a wide range of industries. Recently, multiple companies have approached CAPS to evaluate their supply chain for greening opportunities in order to meet new industry standards for waste reduction and environmental compliance. To address these requests and promote the cost-saving potential of a green supply chain, CAPS recently accepted RPA’s membership invitation.

The RPA (formerly RPCC), is the collective voice for supply chain partners and reusable packaging systems across all industries. The organization consistently demonstrates the economic, environmental, and social value of reusable packaging. RPA’s extensive efforts include fire safety research, conducting ground breaking RFID trials and life cycle inventory studies, and changing legislation to provide tax breaks for those utilizing reusable systems.

“RPA is constantly innovating, unifying, and developing new standards to make packaging systems more environmentally friendly,” said Robert Wiedmaier, CEO of Container and Pooling Solutions. “We look forward to joining other RPA members in communicating how companies can efficiently implement green strategies while reducing their overall costs.”

Research conducted by the RPA found the market for reusable packaging systems has strong future growth potential. CAPS currently provides, tracks, and manages these types of reusable systems.

“As a new RPA member, CAPS, along with our other container management members, will help us to more aggressively inform companies across the country about the wealth of benefits with reusable systems and more broadly implement new policies," explained Jeanie Johnson, RPA executive director. "All of our member companies are aligned with our mission of promoting reusable packaging systems as the preferred - and ultimately dominant - solution for moving, storing, and handling products throughout the supply chain."
