Zochem, a leading North American manufacturer of zinc oxide powder and pellets has been recognized for the second consecutive year by the Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers (ARPM) with its “Gold Safety Award” for plant safety.
The prestigious Safety Awards Program recognizes safety in the rubber manufacturing industry by facilities that have achieved a level of safety performance above the industry average. Awards are based on data reported on a company's annual OSHA 300 Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses. “Zochem South” in Dickson, TN won the Gold Safety Award, with an Honorable Mention Award going to “Zochem North in Brampton, ON.”
ARPN’s Environmental Health and Safety Summit is an annual event designed to share “best leadership and safety practices” with industry professionals hoping to achieve world-class safety within their companies. The Dickson facility has recorded six years without an OSHA recordable injury, and the Brampton plant is approaching nine years of zero lost-time injuries.
Zochem supplies zinc oxide powder and pellets to the tire, rubber, chemical, electronics, agricultural, plastics, USP/pharma, ceramics markets, and others. The company was founded in 1933 and manufactures 18 standard formulations.
