Wholesale bulk foods and products firm UNFI issued a voluntary recall on November 27 for 5 lb bags of Wild Harvest brand organic unbleached all-purpose flour after tests of the products by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed the pathogen E. coli, according to a company announcement posted to the FDA’s website.

The recall was issued the same day that Illinois-based flour and milled grain products producer Hodgson Mill voluntarily recalled two lots of Unbleached All-Purpose White Wheat Flour for possible E. coli contamination.

Impacted UNFI products have the AA BEST IF USED BY date of 010820 CC 15:58 and the UPC code 711535509158.

“To date, UNFI has not received any direct consumer reports of confirmed illnesses related to this product. This recall is being issued out of an abundance of care,” the company said in the announcement.

No other types of Wild Harvest flour are being recalled.
