A pipe ruptured in a unit of the Abadan Petrochemicals Company plant in Abadan, Iran on Wednesday, causing a blaze to ignite, Iranian and international news organizations reported.

Fire crews were able to douse the small fire in about an hour, Reuters said, citing information from Iranian state news agency IRNA. Two workers were reportedly injured during the incident.

Another report by Iranian news outlet APA said no one was hurt.

Established in 1963, Abadan Petrochemicals Company was the first firm to manufacture PVC in Iran, according to the firm’s website. The facility’s PVC capacity reached 59,800 tn in 2006. Caustic sode, sodium hypochlorite, ethylene and propylene are also produced at the site.
