Mettler Toledo Plans New State-of-the-Art Facility

August 23, 2016

The Mettler Toledo Product Inspection Division will be building a new state-of-the-art facility to accommodate the growth of its business throughout the Americas.

The new facility is expected to be completed in late 2017, and will be located 15 miles north of the division's current site in Tampa, FL, which houses the company's Safeline Metal Detection and X-ray Inspection businesses. It will also become the home of the Hi-Speed Checkweighing business, which is planned to relocate from Ithaca, NY during the course of 2018.

This investment will bring together the vast experience of Mettler Toledo's Hi-Speed and Safeline businesses into a single organization at a fully-integrated and efficient facility, which will be more than twice the size of the current building. The many common customers of both businesses will see significant advantages such as more efficient coordination, engineering, and installation of new projects. The co-location will also provide a convenient 'one stop shop' for the increasingly important training, validation and service work for the thousands of existing Mettler Toledo installations.

Mettler Toledo is a leading global supplier of precision instruments and services. The company has strong leadership positions in all businesses and believes it holds global number-one market positions in a majority of them. Specifically, Mettler Toledo is the largest provider of weighing instruments for use in laboratory, industrial, and food retailing applications. The company is also a leading provider of analytical instruments for use in laboratory and in-line measurement in production processes.

Through its Product Inspection Div., which includes the Hi-Speed and Safeline businesses, alongside the Garvens checkweighing, PCE serialization, and CI-Vision vision inspection businesses, Mettler Toledo is the largest supplier of in-line inspection systems used in production and packaging for food, pharmaceutical, and other industries.
