Chemicals manufacturer and oil and gas firm Ineos recently submitted documents to officials in Texas, outlining its potential plan to invest $803 million in an expansion of its La Porte petrochemical complex, the Houston Chronicle reported Tuesday.

An application for a state tax incentive submitted by Ineos to the Texas Comptroller’s Office examined by the newspaper said the company intends to build an ethylbenzene and styrene monomers plant at the site.

Ineos is considering other sites for the expansion project, including Mobile, AL and Jackson County in Mississippi, according to the Chronicle’s coverage. If the project moves forward, construction on the La Porte facility could begin in the first quarter of 2021.

The newspaper said the plant has a planned capacity of 850 kt of ethylbenzene and styrene monomers.
