Food processing technology supplier GEA recently finished work on Tata Coffee Limited, India’s new freeze dried instant coffee plant in Vietnam, a release announced Monday. Operated by Tata Coffee subsidiary Tata Coffee Vietnam Company Limited, the facility in the Binh Duong Province features a capacity of 5000 mt/yr of freeze dried coffee.

“This type of project is ideal for us at GEA because our expertise and scope of supply allows us to build an entire coffee line using our own resources,” Kim Knudsen, GEA’s head of sales, coffee and freeze drying, said in a statement. “This means we can maintain control and take responsibility for the entire project from start to finish.”

The new facility was inaugurated on March 6 this year. GEA supplied CARINE extraction technology, aroma recovery solutions, mechanical vapor recovery (MVR) evaporation equipment, and a CONRAD 600 EX ECO freeze dryer. The company also installed a complete pilot plant, enabling Tata to create unique blends for clients.

Tata Coffee, part of the Tata Group, previously hired GEA to construct coffee plants in India.
