A food ingredient blending plant owned by DuPont Nutrition & Health in Australia was recently relocated to a site in New South Wales from Botany to expand the firm’s output, a company press release announced Tuesday.

The new plant in Erskine Park contains production and warehouse areas. Operations will focus on specialty food ingredient blending. DuPont said the new site has enough space to double the output level of the former Botany plant.

“The expansion and new capabilities underscore our commitment to drive and support strong business growth across the dairy, beverage, and bakery industries in Asia Pacific,” Jack Hung, DuPont Nutrition & Health manufacturing and supply chain manager for Asia Pacific, said in a statement. “As we transition production from Botany to Erskine Park, we will ensure that our business partners continue to receive the service excellence expected from us.”

New equipment with improved food safety, process safety control, and quality capabilities was installed in the new facility, along with management systems to decrease manual handling in manufacturing processes.

The release did not detail the cost of the new plant or how workers at the Botany plant were impacted by the decision.
