Charles Ross & Son Co. has announced the completion of its 86th 500-cu-ft ribbon blender. The blenders are manufactured in one of the company’s several manufacturing facilities. Units are constructed in stainless steel and each is designed for operation under vacuum and internal pressure. All include jackets for heating and cooling as well as special domed covers and a flush type pneumatically operated discharge valve. The drive systems include a 150-hp motor directly coupled to a heavy-duty reducer for operation at 22 rpm.

Ross manufactures ribbon blenders in a wide range of sizes from ½ to over 500-cu-ft working capacity. Ross blenders are offered with several agitator design possibilities. Standard options include sanitary or air purged stuffing boxes, jackets for heating and cooling, sanitary construction, and covers to meet client’s production needs. Testing is available at the Ross Test & Development Center; trial rentals are available for in-plant trials. Blenders are kept in stock through 100-cu-ft capacity for rapid shipment.
