Bühler has launched the PolyOne multifunctional single-screw extruder for the pet food and aqua feed industry.
“PolyOne enables our customers to maximize their productivity, and helps to prevent product recalls,” says Christoph Naef, head of business unit nutrition at Bühler Group.
PolyOne meets the highest food and feed safety standards thanks to its hygienic design. It is a modular system, so it can be adapted to customers’ specific needs, such as higher capacities.
The double-stage preconditioner separates the mixing zone from the retention zone. This ensures optimal, intensive mixing at high screw speeds and gentle retention across a narrow time range at a low screw speed. The design of the double-stage preconditioner is such that the material inlet is vertically positioned above the outlet.
The sanitary startup valve to separate product streams uncooked product flow can be separated from the and sterilizes product streams without contaminating the extruder die and the cutter.
