Goodman, Hewitt-Robins Unite to Form New Conveyor and Component Company

Effective August 1, 2009, Goodman Conveyor Company and Hewitt-Robins united to create Goodman-Hewitt Conveyors & Components.

“This new company is based on the premise that we are here to get you what you want, when you want it,” explained Doug Markham, president, Goodman-Hewitt. “To accomplish this, we have real people answering the phones and increased inventories. For example, we have both ball and roller type components, plus the choice of regreasable or sealed bearings. Plus, we have knowledgeable experts available to help our customers select the right conveyor components to meet their specific conveying challenges. It’s simple: we are organized to put the customer first. Period. End of story.”

In 1877, Jeffrey Manufacturing was founded. In 1891, Thomas Robins, founder of Hewitt-Robins, developed the first practical conveyor system for moving heavy abrasive materials utilizing steel idler rolls and rubber covered belting. In 1898, Goodman Equipment was created. Goodman Conveyor was formed in 1984 with the merging of the conveyor divisions of Jeffrey and Goodman.

Goodman-Hewitt Conveyors & Components is headquartered in Belton, SC and provides CEMA B-, C-, D-, and E-rated conveyors and components.
