The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its January 2021 booked orders increased by 24.20% when compared to January 2020. However, January 2021 booked orders decreased by 38.87% compared to December 2020.

January 2021 booked orders for Bulk Handling Equipment increased 17.78% compared to December 2020. January 2021 booked orders for Unit Handling Equipment decreased 49.77% when compared to December 2020.

CEMA’s January 2021 billed sales (shipments) increased by 38.40% compared to January 2020. January 2021 billed sales decreased 11.47% compared to December 2020 billed sales. This contrasts with the December 2020 increase of 20.77% when compared to November 2020.

January 2021 billed sales for Bulk Handling Equipment decreased 11.02% when compared to December 2020 billed sales. The Bulk Handling decrease follows a 13.72% increase in December 2020 vs. November 2020. January 2021 billed sales for Unit Handling Equipment decreased 11.56% when compared to December 2020. The billed sales for Unit Handling’s decrease compares to an increase of 22.36% for last month (December 2020) vs. November 2020.
