The customer’s bagging scale PLC holds a vast number of settings for the many product recipes it packages but certain high-value products are extremely sensitive to environmental conditions. Varying temperatures, humidity levels, and head pressures affect the bulk density of these products in unpredictable patterns throughout each batch. The affected products are packaged in small batches where the need for precise weights far exceeds speed. The above weighing system allows operators to fill the bags normally then check their weight, manually adding or removing product as needed, without handling the bags in repetitive motions and risking injury. Each system is completely assembled and tested in Chantland’s facility before shipment as part of the firm purchase price.
