Underwood Joins Hoover Materials Handling Group

Hoover Materials Handling Group has named William (Bill) Underwood as sales manager for the Western U.S. region. Underwood is a graduate of Northwestern College and began working for Hoover in 1991.

In 2003, Hoover decided to split the company in an agreement to sell off the poly drum and limited-use container lines to Mauser Germany. At that time Underwood joined the Mauser Germany group and managed the West Coast and Midwest territories. While living in the Northwest, he was voted vice president and then president of the Northwest Chemical Association based in Portland, OR. In January 2008, he resigned his position with Mauser to join a private venture in the container industry as president and partner.

After a recent visit to Hoover’s Houston facility he was encouraged by the new leadership with Donald Young at the helm and subsequently accepted a position as sales manager for the Western region. Bill’s extensive history with Hoover and his knowledge of the company’s customers’ needs provides an excellent base from which to build future business.

Hoover Materials Handling Group manufactures, sells, and rents stainless steel and poly-plastic Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), container frames, and related equipment for storage and transportation applications. The company’s products are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 facility and meet the highest quality standards in the industry and can be fully customized according to client specifications.
