"One Day at J&J" Bulk Solids Handling Seminar Offered

The next One Day at J&J Bulk Solids Handling seminar will be held on Thursday November 7 at Jenike & Johanson's San Luis Obispo, CA office.

Proper training of personnel involved in solids handling and processing is essential to operating an efficient and reliable bulk solids handling system. Since the theory of bulk solids handling is seldom a part of formal engineering training, many in industry lack an understanding of why solids handling problems occur and what practical steps can be taken to diagnose, alleviate, or prevent them. This one-day seminar will provide solid insights into common flow problems that arise when powders and bulk solids are put into silos, bins, and hoppers. Ways to characterize a material’s flow properties will also be demonstrated in our laboratory, along with a discussion of proven, practical, and cost effective design solutions.

This course will run from 8:30 am until 5 pm, and will include lunch and coffee breaks. The day will feature: wellcome and activities overview; introduction to bulk solids handling and material testing; laboratory tour with actual testing workshops/equipment demonstrations; training on advanced topics (feeder design, pneumatic conveying, segregation); open discussion opportunity with J&J engineers.

Design, project, and research engineers or scientists, as well as plant operation personnel who are responsible for solving and preventing flow problems or purchasing solids handling equipment, will benefit from the valuable information provided in this course. Additionally, personnel interested in learning more about bulk solids testing will find this course valuable.

The fee for this one-day course is $400, which includes class notes and lunch. A discount is available for multiple attendees from the same company. To register, call 978-649-3300, send an e-mail to [email protected], or download a PDF registration form that can be e-mailed or faxed back.
