New Generation of Leadership at Yargus Manufacturing

A little over 20 years ago, Larry Yargus acquired Layco, changing the name of the company his father had founded to Yargus Manufacturing Inc., and developing it into one of the most respected manufacturers in the material handling industry.

Today, Larry’s three daughters have become integrally involved in the company’s operation, having recently become part owners and members of Yargus Manufacturing’s board of directors and executive management team.

“It’s personally gratifying for me that my daughters Anne, Kate, and Meg have taken on key roles in the company,” Yargus said. “More than that, each one has unique areas of strength that are helping us grow and streamline our operation and market the Layco product line both nationally and internationally.”

Yargus added that this new generation of leadership for Yargus Manufacturing will make it possible for the company to expand its sales footprint, continue development of innovative technology and implement lean management techniques to make the company’s processes more efficient.

Anne Yargus Sheehy has been with the company for 11 years and is its senior vice president, sales and marketing. Her focus has been international sales development, focusing on Mexico and Central and South America. Anne also handles much of the marketing for Yargus and the Layco brand. She holds a B.S. degree in Business with a minor in Spanish from Butler University, Indianapolis.

Margaret “Meg” Yargus, is the company’s domestic sales manager and assists with marketing. Joining the company in 2009, she initially worked the southern Indiana and Illinois sales territory. As domestic sales manager, Meg works with distributors across the country and cultivates relationships with national accounts. She is a graduate of Butler University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing.

Kate Yargus is the most recent family member to join the staff, starting last June as risk manager. She handles insurance, safety and compliance, contracts and other legal matters. Kate also is involved in the development of new systems in production and engineering. She earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Northwestern University and a J.D. degree from Southern Illinois University.

Yargus Manufacturing has provided the domestic and international fertilizer industry with innovative blending and conveying equipment from its five-acre complex in Marshall, IL. Now in its 45th year, the company has expanded its Layco line to include such innovative products as the versatile volumetric blender, declining weight blender and tower blend systems. At the same time it has developed an expertise for turn-key projects, supplying all the in-loading, in-plant, blending and out-loading equipment, custom designed for each application.
