KMC Global Acquires CDM Systems Inc.

KMC Global, the parent company of Hapman announced the acquisition of CDM Systems Inc., headquartered in Elk River, MN. CDM Systems is a manufacturer of custom en-masse conveyors and marine leg ship unloaders. CDM Systems is recognized for heavy-duty, large-volume en-masse conveyors that operate in extreme conditions without fail. The conveyors are made of an abrasive-resistant steel frame and a high-alloy, drop-forged, hardened chain assembly. The CDM conveyors are engineered and built for service in mining, potash, cement, co-generation boiler feed, and other heavy industrial applications.

KMC Global is the parent company to a group of industrial manufacturing companies that conduct business worldwide. Each company within the group operates under its own brand and maintains its own structure, while benefiting from shared resources and technology advances of the group. In addition to Hapman, the other companies under the KMC Global umbrella include: PRAB Inc., a manufacturer recognized for engineered, robust material handling conveyors and systems that process metals and cutting fluids; Triple/S Dynamics, known for the invention of the SlipStick horizontal motion conveyor, and the Texas Shaker precision screener for dry granular materials; STC DipSpin, an experienced custom manufacturer of parts coating equipment; and OVIBRA, a leading European manufacturer of industrial-grade screeners, and vibratory conveyors.

“The acquisition of CDM was completed out of respect for the brand, the quality manufacturing, and the dedicated people,” said Ned Thompson, president of KMC Global. “We welcome CDM to our group of companies and look forward to their continued growth and success.”

The addition of CDM to the KMC Global group complements the conveyors manufactured by the other companies. Greg Patterson, vice president of Hapman explains, “We see the addition of CDM to our group of companies as a very positive move for all of us. The en-masse conveyor is a rugged, heavy-duty conveyor designed for larger capacity applications. We will now have the ability to provide these types of conveyors where other conveyors are not the best fit. This additional offering will be an advantage to our customers.”
