J-Tec Material Handling Established in U.S.
J-Tec Material Handling has been established in Houston.

This year marks the founding of a new business location for J-Tec Material Handling in Houston, a result of the company’s international successes over the last 45 years.

Since its acquisition by Katoen Natie in 1999, J-Tec has been experiencing substantial growth in overseas inquiries that have led to numerous greenfield and turnkey references worldwide. These global opportunities have prompted J-Tec to further optimize its services abroad. After starting up in Thailand and Brazil, the company has started J-Tec Material Handling Inc.

Katoen Natie is a worldwide logistics player with over 150 terminals and logistic platforms in more than 26 countries spread over five different continents. In the U.S., Katoen Natie is well represented with different business hubs in five different states. Such presence offers an advantage for J-Tec as every facility has the required infrastructure already in place.

After intensively analyzing various options, establishing J-Tec Material Handling Inc. in La Porte, Houston became the most obvious choice. The facility is situated in the Port of Houston, which is one of the world’s busiest and acts as a large and vibrant component of the regional economy. Additionally, Houston is served by three airports allowing J-Tec to maximize its services to its customers throughout the U.S. As Houston is also the cradle of Katoen Natie’s successful U.S. adventure, the company can feed on years of experience and know-how.
