Horizon Systems and Process Systems Announce Merger

Horizon Systems Inc., an engineering and manufacturing company that designs material handling and automated transfer solutions for food, pet food, plastics, and chemical manufacturers, has merged with Process Systems Inc. (PSI), a national leader in design and installation of automated systems for the plastics industry.

The combination of Horizon Systems Inc. and Process Systems Inc. will result in the new name Horizon PSI. The new entity will retain all Horizon Systems and PSI employees with a combined management team under the leadership of Wes Kuhl, president and Pete Vanderpool, managing partner. Horizon PSI will operate out of its current offices and manufacturing facilities in Lawrence, KS, Lenexa, KS, McCune, KS, and Nokomis, IL.

Horizon PSI’s goal is to be recognized as a one-stop source for automated ingredient handling systems and aftermarket support. Horizon Systems and PSI have successfully worked together for many years, and this merger combines both companies’ engineering and manufacturing expertise, along with the product offerings of Horizon Systems and turnkey installation and project management expertise of PSI. Continued industry specialization in food and pet food, combined with developing an even stronger presence in the plastics and chemical industries, will fuel future growth.

“By combining our companies we bring more options to our customers. Horizon has the engineering and manufacturing capabilities and PSI provides the project management and system integration experience, making the combined entity a cost effective single-source supplier for our customers,” said Kuhl.

“PSI’s 21-year history in turnkey projects complements Horizon’s state-of-the-art equipment, creating obvious synergies with little overlap that will benefit both the merged company and the customer,” said Vanderpool.
