The Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) and Kansas State University (K-State) unveiled the 33-course 2016 distance education program schedule. It is the most robust collection of online training courses the organizations have ever offered, with three new courses and one updated offering. In 2015, the program offered 28 courses.
New courses in 2016 include:
• GEAPS 523: The Grain Industry in Canada: Climate Crops and People (Available in May)
• GEAPS 546: Controlling Grain Bin Fires and Smolders (Available in October)
• GEAPS 610: Interpretation of Process Flow Diagrams (Available in October)
• Updated course in 2016:

Courses are available eight different times during the year, the most in program history. The schedule includes the first-ever summer options and courses required for credentials in grain operations and processing are all available during the calendar year. More information on credentials is available on GEAPS’ website.
Overall, GEAPS and K-State offer more than 25 unique online courses for the grain-handling and processing industries. More than 2500 registrants from 30 countries have taken courses since the program’s start in 2005.
GEAPS offers a pair of programs that make training large groups of employees efficient and cost-effective. Companies looking to train 10 or more employees at once can schedule any course at their convenience through the courses on-demand program. Companies can also take advantage of volume discounts to save on blocks of registrations and lock in the price for three years. Volume discounts purchased before Dec. 31, 2015, save on the 2015 GEAPS member price of $640 per course. Registration for January courses opens Nov. 16.
A complete schedule and more information on individual courses are available on the GEAPS/K-State Distance Education Program website.
