Agribusiness giant Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) announced Thursday that its Animal Nutrition division recently opened a new Animal Nutrition Technology Center in Decatur, IL that will develop ingredients and nutrition solutions and further collaboration between the company and its customers.
Focusing on the broad animal nutrition market, the center features a range of advanced technologies, including a pilot extrusion facility, pet food culinary kitchen, a feed evaluation lab, and an enzyme analysis lab.
“The Animal Nutrition Technology Center was built as a result of ADM’s commitment to research and growth in the animal nutrition space,” Ryan Lane, president of ADM Animal Nutrition, North America, said in a company press release. “We recognize collaboration is an important cornerstone of successful customer relationships and developed the center with this in mind.”
ADM said it has made several moves to expand its presence in the animal feed market over in recent years. The agribusiness opened a new livestock feed facility in Hoa Mac, Vietnam in November and cut the ribbon of a new livestock feed manufacturing plant in Quincy, IL in April. At the beginning of the year, ADM completed its $1.8 billion acquisition of French feed firm Neovia.
“Over the past five years, ADM has significantly expanded its animal nutrition capabilities to meet increased customer demands for comprehensive research and accelerated speed-to-market,” said Lane. “This facility allows us to work with custoemrs to create solutions that meet the challenging needs of consumers, all under one roof.”
