Food processing firm Key Organics Inc. is investing $5.8 million to construct a new grains and pulses milling plant in Lubbock County, Texas that will employ 38 workers, the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) announced this week.
“We look forward to expanding our company into the first state-of-the-art facility for milling organic certified grains and pulses in Lubbock,” Rodrigo Ariceaga, president and chief executive officer of Key Organics, said in a LEDA release cited by television news station KCBD. “Our company is thankful to LEDA for its support and guidance as we strive to lead the world in our high efficiency and environmentally-friendly process.”
When the plant starts operations next year, it will have a capacity of 3.5 million lb/mo of certified organic flours, the release said.
