Siemens 2013 Automation Summit Set for New Orleans

Siemens Industry Inc. announces New Orleans as the host site for its 2013 Automation Summit, June 24 – 27, with a continued emphasis on the theme of “Community. Experiences. Productivity.”

Registration has opened and Siemens encourages users to sign up before April 15 to take advantage of early bird pricing. The company has also opened its “call for papers” and encourages submissions in order to get registration fees waived.

The Summit will provide engineering and operational professionals, automation and operations management, and senior-level executives with end user learning opportunities covering the complete spectrum of automation--from process and discrete to motion control and drives.

This year's Summit will also play host to manufacturing renaissance track session, featuring IndustryWeek keynote speakers and a panel discussion about trends in automation, technology, productivity, and energy efficiency that are driving competitiveness and growth in the manufacturing sector.

“Siemens Automation Summit is extremely beneficial to both an individual and his/her company, as it empowers both through networking and the use of best practices,” said Nigel Hough, engineering director for Columbus Brick, and a new member of Siemens User Advisory Board. “I have found that there is no other venue on this scale that allows its participants to meet Siemens users and employees in a personal and professional atmosphere,”

Siemens will kick off the first night of the conference with its successful Connect Event 3.0, welcoming attendees to BYOD (bring your own device), whether it be an iPad, iPhone, or any other mobile device. Being held on the first night gives attendees the opportunity to build, connect and maintain relationships among users and solution partners throughout the four day conference.

The conference will also offer 50 breakout sessions of best practice sharing, free hands-on training, networking opportunities, and the opportunity to provide product input and prioritization for future Siemens product enhancements.

“As we enter the twelfth year of hosting our Automation Summit, the premise of our event remains the same – providing a unique user experience and uniting Siemens experts, solution partners and end users,” said Raj Batra, president of the Industry Automation Div. for Siemens Industry Inc. “New Orleans is a great site for our Summit, as we gather to share best practices in new productivity, energy efficiency, expertise and commitment, digitalization, and engineering ingenuity,”

Track sessions will include topics such as energy and asset management, improve productivity through the application of automation technology, maintenance and operations, novel approaches to problem resolution, and safety and industrial security.
Siemens will also announce its Customer Excellence Awards, recognizing the company’s top end user, OEM, and solution partner for the innovative application of Siemens products and solutions.
