Measurement analyses are among the most important factors in research. Particularly in battery, pharmaceutical, and polymer research, the measurement of powdery substances, granulates, and compounds is an indispensable tool for the development and advancement of modern materials or for quality assurance.

The PD-600 powder measuring system is the further development of the PD-51 and enables the determination of the physical properties of powders via the specific resistance under controlled pressure of up to 20kN. 

The PD-600's newly developed pressure chamber with powerful vacuum pump and automatic hydraulic unit ensure reproducible laboratory conditions. Measurements in low pressure ranges from 0.01 kN are now also possible. Different cylinder measuring heads are available for the low-resistance measuring range up to 10-4 Ω and for the high-resistance measuring range up to 1014Ω. The improved vacuum pump makes filling the measuring powder considerably easier.

The sample is pressed into the round sieve mould of the measuring head under pre-determined pressure. Depending on the sample, the conductivity is then measured with the Loresta-GX or the Hiresta-UX. The measuring software now records the conductivity (Ω) of the sample in relation to the bulk density (sample thickness in mm) and the contact pressure, which are also transmitted. This data can be transferred to a clear diagram.
