Candy Firm Ferrero USA Unveils New Distribution Site
June 1, 2020
Confectionery company Ferrero USA Inc. opened a new 728,000-sq-ft facility in McDonough, GA to increase distribution of Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, and Crunch products and other candy brands produced by the company, Henry County Development Authority announced in a release Monday.
“Ferrero is committed to continue growing in the US,” the chief executive officer and president of Ferrero USA, Paul Chibe, said in a statement. “The McDonough distribution center will help us bring our products to more people in the market, and will bring great employment opportunities to the people of Henry County at a crucial time.”
The company plans to add capabilities to distribute other Ferrero brands like Nutella, Tic Tac, Kinder, and Ferrero Rocher in the future. Slated to become operational this September, the facility will eventually have a headcount of about 250 workers.
The new site is one of several distribution facilities opened by the company in recent months. A new 643,798-sq-ft distribution center was opened in Goodyear, AZ in mid-February. Ferrero also opened a new 750,000-sq-ft distribution facility in Jonestown, PA in November 2019 that will support the rollout of new products and brands in North America.
“This represents another important milestone in the expansion of our logistics capabilities in the market,” Luca Robbiano, vice president, North American Supply Chain for Ferrero, said in the release. “Our new distribution centers in Pennsylvania, Arizona, and now Georgia are crucial for driving both strong organic growth and acquisition-driven growth.”
DHL Supply Chain North America is providing warehouse services, including shipment consolidation, packaging, distribution, and inventory management, at the McDonough site.
