One person was injured in an industrial fire at the Silberline Manufacturing production plant in Tamaqua, PA on Wednesday, local news organizations reported.

The fire started at about 3 pm at the Lincoln Drive facility, promoting a response from several area fire departments and EMS crews, coverage by television news station WFMZ said.  

"Silberline experienced a fire inside a mixer at our production plant in Tamaqua, PA. The fire was contained to the mixer and exinguished with minimal damage," the company said in a statement to Powder & Bulk Solids. The fire was doused with minimal damage. 

A worker was transported to an area hospital via helicopter to receive treatment for serious burns, according to the Leighton Times-News. The worker was later released from the hospital, according to the company. 

"Silberline's extensive safety procedures helped minimize the impact to both personnel and equipment," the release said. "We are thankful for the fast response of our trained, internal personnel and our local first responders in addressing the incident."

Silberline Manufacturing produces metallic pigments and industrial coatings for automotive, plastics, graphic arts, and industrial applications.
