Crews from several area fire departments responded to the Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) grain terminal in Ottawa Lake, MI last Thursday after a blaze ignited in a 115-ft silo, the Monroe News reported. The scene was active through Friday as fire personnel to monitor the smoldering silo and assess the damage.

The Ottawa Lake Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene at about 9:25 a.m. Several other departments also responded to the site, the newspaper’s coverage said, and firefighters worked to douse the flames for most of the day.

On Friday, fire officials met with ADM staff to determine the next steps for the damaged silo.
