Firefighters responded to the Invista production plant in Victoria, TX on Monday after a blaze ignited in a piece of process equipment, the Victoria Advocate reported.

The fire ignited at about 1:30 am in equipment that was being prepped for maintenance, Invista Spokesperson Kim Conlee told the newspaper. Members of the firm’s emergency response team and firefighters from the Victoria Fire Department doused the flames by 3:30 am, according to the Advocate. No injuries were logged.

Invista is currently in the midst of a $250 million project at the Victoria facility to upgrade production assets and expand its adiponitrile (ADN) production capacity. The company said in a December 5 release that it recently installed new columns at the site. Work on the upgrade is expected to reach completion in 2021.
