Commercial building performance solutions provider Firestone Building Products Company LLC, subsidiary of auto tire maker Bridgestone, announced plans to expand its manufacturing presence in Europe with the construction of a new insulation production and distribution site in Heinsberg, Germany.
“The Heinsberg location will be the second European manufacturing facility for the company. We acquired Giscosa EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) plant in Terrassa, Spain in 2013,” managing director of international operations and vice president for Firestone Building Products, Troy Geuther, said in a statement. “The new facility will expand production and distribution of polyiso foam, the company’s polyiso foam insulation used in commercial construction.”
The move positions Firestone to more efficiently provide the European construction market with insulation. The company expects the new facility to be operational in 2018.
“The investment in expanded manufacturing capacity for our Firestone roofing insulation products is a key part of our overarching strategy to grow our business and ensure we are meeting the needs of our European and global customers,” Tim Dunn, president of Firestone Building Products, said in the company’s release. “We are excited to work with our local business partners and government officials to expand our global operations in Heinsberg.”
Firestone Building Products is based in Indianapolis, IN and provides a variety of commercial construction-related products.
