Firefighters were dispatched to the Linetec Architectural Finishes plant in Wausau, WI on Wednesday after a blaze ignited in a piece of machinery during an industrial process, local news organizations reported.

A second alarm was issued shortly after crews arrived because the fire kept growing, Wausau Fire Battalion Chief Kraig Kruzen told television news station WSAW. The fire official said that flammable liquids were possibly involved in the blaze.  

By 1:30 pm, over 50 firefighters reported to the scene from various fire departments, according to coverage by the Wausau Daily Herald. No injuries were logged during the incident.

“It took a lot of firefighters to safely extinguish the fire in Wausau’s west side industrial park,” the Wausau Fire Department wrote in a post on its Facebook page. “Fires of this size and complexity can be difficult to extinguish.”

An investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.

Linetec is a provider of architectural finishing products, including pain, specailty finishes, and anodize finishes.
