A fire Tuesday evening at the Dallas Manufacturing Company pet products plant in Athens, TX forced workers to evacuate the building, local news organizations reported.
Crews from several area fire departments responded to the facility after the blaze started at about 4:30 p.m. Officials with the Athens Fire Department told CBS News affiliate KYTX that the blaze originated in the front of the structure and that staff on site were able to evacuate the building.
The building did not sustain major damages during the incident, the fire department said, and no injuries were logged.
An investigation has been opened into the cause of the fire, Henderson County Fire Marshal Shane Renberg said in coverage by ABC News affiliate KLTV.
Dallas Manufacturing Company, a manufacturer of pet bedding products, has been in operation for nearly three decades, according to the company’s website.
