Crews from three fire departments responded to the Haas Sons Inc. Redi Mix plant near Ladysmith, WI on New Year’s Eve after a blaze ignited in the facility, local news organizations reported.

The flames were brought under control after about an hour, but the building was later declared a “total loss,” officials said in a SeeHaferNews.com article. Two cement trucks and an end loader at the site were also lost to the fire.

“The cause is undetermined and isn’t likely to ever be known,” Ladysmith Fire Chief Kyle Gibbs said in coverage by the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram. Gary Haas, a co-owner of the facility, told the newspaper that the company intends to rebuild the facility.

No injuries were logged during the fire.

Haas Sons Inc. is a provider of concrete, excavation and trucking services in central Wisconsin, according to the firm’s website. The company operates five plants in Eau Claire, Bloomer, Menomonie, Ladysmith, and Thorp.
