Firefighters responded to the Hostess snacks plant in Emporia, KS at about 6 p.m. last Friday night after a fire ignited inside the facility, local news organizations reported.

“What we found when we arrived was a contained fire in a vent that runs from one of the machines to the roof,” Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Eron Steinlage said in an interview with the Emporia Gazette

The blaze started in an area of the facility used for donut production where a fire broke out this April, Steinlage told KVOE. A donut fryer and four vents were damaged, and a firefighter was injured in that incident.

A cooking accident is thought to have caused the fire last Friday, Steinlage said in the television news station’s report. Flames caused some damage to vents in the plant, but no injuries were logged.
