Fire Breaks Out at Chocolate Plant in Pennsylvania

Crews were called to the Blommer Chocolate Co. manufacturing plant in Upper Hanover Township, PA last Thursday morning after a fire ignited in the facility, according to accounts by several local news organizations. 

Firefighters responded to the scene at about 10 a.m. Workers were evacuated from the facility during the two-alarm fire, coverage by the Limerick Post said. Officials told the news website that the blaze was doused by 11 a.m. and crews left the scene just after noon. 

An image captured from the scene by upvnews.com shows firefighters applying water to what appears to be ductwork. Several EMS units also responded to the incident.

Blommer Chocolate, one of the largest manufacturers of ingredient chocolate, was acquired by Japanese plant-based foods producer Fuji Oil Holdings in November 2018, Powder & Bulk Solids reported.
