A fire occurred at the Tyson plant in Estill Springs, northwest of Chattanooga, on Saturday.

According to the Estill Springs Police Department, a grain truck was unloading at the plant on Saturday, Aug. 31, which triggered a dust explosion beneath the truck that extended into the grain hopper, which leads into the on-site grain silo. The fire traveled up the grain elevator, igniting additional grain stored in the facility.

The fire was quickly extinguished after emergency responders arrived. One individual sustained burns and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Along with Estill Springs Fire Department, the Capitol Hill, Decherd, Winchester, and North Franklin County Fire Departments responded.
