Fire at Kansas Equipment Firm Causes $1.7M in Damages

A blaze at the Viking Blast & Wash Systems facility in Rose Hill, KS on Nov. 20 left an estimated $1.7 million in damages to the 32,000-sq-ft structure and items inside the plant, local news organizations reported. 

Crews headed to the Industrial Court site at 11:51 p.m. and commenced “an aggressive fire attack” upon arrival, according to a Facebook post by Butler County Fire District #3. The firefighters called for backup from numerous area fire departments. 

“The fire was brought under control and there were no reports of any injuries to fire personnel. An investigation is currently being conducted to determine the cause of the fire,” Butler County Fire District #3’s statement said. 

Viking Blast & Wash Systems, a part of Viking Corporation, manufactures industrial cleaning equipment, including blasting machines, heavy-duty parts washers, and vibratory/deburring equipment. The company serves a range of industries, including manufacturing and foundries with equipment made in the U.S.
