A fire at the J.R. Simplot food processing plant in Grand Forks, ND on Wednesday night caused an estimated $150,000 in damages and forced staff to evacuate the structure, officials told local news organizations.
Crews from the Grand Forks Fire Department responded to the site on Gateway Drive in Grand Forks at about 11 p.m., discovering smoke and flames in the building when they arrived. Firefighters managed to quickly put down the blaze.
Workers at the site evacuated the plant before the fire department arrived, Fargo, ND-based ABC News affiliate WDAY reported. No injuries were logged during the incident.
An investigation into the cause of the fire has been opened.
