A fire broke out Monday morning at the Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) corn wet mill in Decatur, IL, prompting the evacuation of workers present at the site, local news organizations reported.

Several crews responded to the ADM facility at about 8:15 a.m. and had the flames under control by 10 a.m., according to coverage by local NBC News affiliate WAND. Employees of the television news station said they saw “hundreds of workers” evacuating the facility.

The agribusiness told the Decatur Herald-Reviewthat the blaze originated in a vessel in the facility.

“The fire was quickly contained, and no one was injured,” said ADM spokesperson Jackie Anderson said in the newspaper’s report. “We are currently assessing the damage and investigating the cause.”

Fire officials also told local media that they are conducting an investigation into the incident.

In June, firefighters responded to a fire at another ADM facility in Decatur after flames ignited in an area where maintenance work was being performed, the Herald & Review reported at the time of the incident.
