Two workers were seriously injured Monday morning in an explosion at a paint facility in Sycamore, IL, according to local news.
A fire was reported at about 8:30 a.m. at the Seymour Paint factory, located about 60 miles west of Chicago, Sycamore Fire Department Chief Bart Gilmore said in a press release on the Department's Facebook page.
Fire crews arrived and found a fire in an enclosed section of a north building on the property. The fire suppression system in that building had already been activated. The crews conducted an aggressive attack on the fire and had it under control in 30 minutes.

The explosion triggered the building's water and foam fire suppression system to activate, and fire engines also needed to extinguish the flames that were contained to the building's interior.
Several agencies assisted at the scene, and the fire was contained to the enclosed area of the structure.
"Report of flames and foam being discharged over the affected area of the building," Gilmore said. "The report was that there was a paint can that exploded. We don't know if it was dropped or if it was part of another system that they had going. Initial crews came in, met some fire. The foam suppression system was not meeting the need. The sprinkler system needed to be assisted by fire engines."
Three workers were evaluated on-scene, with two heading to the hospital. The two were listed in stable condition, according to the Fire Department's press release.
Gilmore said they are still investigating the cause of the explosion.
Seymour Paint manufactures spray paint, specialty paint and coatings, adhesives, and more.
