Firefighters responded to a blaze on Sunday that ignited at a plastics recycling plant in Clyde, OH operated by Evergreen Plastics, several local news organizations reported.

Clyde Fire Department Chief Craig Davis told the Toledo Blade that the fire appears to have started in a dust collector on the exterior of the plant at about 7:30 am. After ignition, flames moved into ductwork and the plant’s roof and two processing rooms were damaged, the official said.

Three other area fire departments also responded to the scene to provide assistance, coverage by television news station WTOL said. A cause of the fire has not yet been established.

Workers inside the plant evacuated safely after the fire started, officials said in the Blade article.

Established in 1998, Evergreen Plastics produces RPET resins in flakes and pellets from post-consumer plastic soda and water bottles, according to its website. The Clyde facility occupies 225,000 sq ft.
