Firefighters and other emergency personnel responded to a fire and explosions at the Versatile Construction Co. in Tucumcari, NM on Tuesday afternoon, several local news organizations reported.

“Fire, law enforcement, and EMS crews are currently working an industrial fire with explosions on the north side of town. We ask that you please avoid the area and allow first responders to safely do their jobs,” Tucumcari Police said in a Facebook post published at 1:50 pm local time Tuesday.

Smoke from the fire was visible for miles away from the facility, according to coverage by the Quay County Sun. A resident who lives near the plant told the Sun that authorities temporarily evacuated homes within a mile radius of Versatile.

The fire was doused later that day, police said. No injuries were logged during the incident
