Fire crews were called to the Chroma Colors Corporation plant in Spencer, NC on Tuesday evening after a two-alarm fire ignited in a bin outside of the facility, according to a report in the Salisbury Post. The container was reportedly holding flammable shavings at the time the fire broke out.

Dispatched to the scene at about 8 pm, firefighters arrived on scene to find a 10ft x 10ft bin ablaze and smoke coming from the vents on plant’s roof, Spencer Fire Chief Jeremi Carter told the newspaper.

The flames were doused in about two minutes and were contained to the bin.

Chroma Colors is a supplier of specialty colors and additive concentrates to the plastics industry, including dry powdered colorants and resins. The company operates several manufacturing sites in the US.
