An explosion Monday morning injured 13 people at a Eltmann, Germany industrial salts cleaning facility, German police told American newswire services Reuters and Associated Press.

The blast at the ball bearings plant’s cleaning site for industrial salts, operated by automotive and industrial components maker Schaeffler, was reported to authorities at about 10:15 a.m., according to a statement emailed to Reuters.

Over 120 firefighters responded to the scene. Four of the 13 hurt in the incident were listed as seriously injured and transported to hospitals via helicopter. Police said the explosion did not appear to pose a danger to area residents.
