CBD products brand Love Hemp Limited has started work on a project to add 14,500-sq-ft of space to its manufacturing plant in the UK that will increase the firm’s production capacity by 400%, the firm’s parent company, World High Life Plc, announced in a release Tuesday.

“This expansion further increases our capabilities in striving to exceed customer and consumer requirements while improving storage and production capabilities, lead times and ensuring the safety of our staff,” Love Hemp CEO Tony Calamita said in a statement. “Our strategy is to continue to expand our local footprint, contributing to the future growth of our business, whilst also providing quality CBD products to our consumers throughout the UK and around the world. The scale of our new facility will support our customer proposition and enable staff to continue to stay safe at work as volumes increase.”

Once operational, the site will manufacture some 43,000 units/day of CBD oils, capsules, and cosmetic products. The site is currently able to produce 8,000 units daily.

The project is expected to reach completion in February 2021.

Also this summer, operations started at a new, $9 million hemp processing facility in Simpson County, KY operated by Shyne Labs. The plant is capable of processing up to 18,000 lb/day of hemp, which is used to produce pure CBD isolate powder, CBD oil, and water-soluble CBD for food and beverage applications.
