A worker at the Eatem Foods Company plant in Vineland, NJ received injuries to a hand and arm last Sunday after becoming caught in a piece of food processing equipment, according to several local news organizations.

Responding to the plant at about 8:45 a.m., fire crews worked for an hour to free the man’s arm from “auger-type” equipment, the Vineland Daily Journal reported Tuesday. The machinery had to be partially disassembled to remove the worker.

The 31-year-old employee was transported to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries. Officials told the Journal that it appears the man will be able to keep his arm following a series of surgeries.

Owned by American agribusiness Archer Daniels Midland, Eatem Foods is a supplier of soup and sauce concentrates, flavor products, and food bases.
