Work recently started on a new 87,000-sq-ft food processing facility at the Volpi Foods production site in Union, MO, the project’s contractor, Holland Construction Services, announced in a recent release.

42 ft cast wall panels will be lifted in place to construct the two-story meat slicing and packaging plant. The new building will be located next to Volpi’s existing prosciutto processing facility.

While the company retain its other production facility in St. Louis, MO, Volpi Foods President Lorenza Pasetti said in the release that the expansion in Union will help the company to facilitate future growth.

Construction started this May and work is slated to reach completion next summer.
